When I was shopping for yarn, this beautiful ombre yarn from Caron Simply Soft leaped out at me — visually, not literally. πŸ˜‰

The vibrant orange hues immediately grabbed my attention. I knew it was the perfect yarn for fall and my next project!

If you haven’t tried Caron Simply Soft, it is exactly what it says it is…soft! It will always be one of my favorites. Not too heavy or thick, perfect for wearables. It’s amazing you guys. I highly recommend it and I’m not an affiliate for them.

Since we are getting ready to go into fall with the slightly cooler temperatures, I didn’t want to make a pattern that was a solid panel or overly warm. Something light and lacy was the best choice for this infinity scarf!

The pattern is a four row repeat and very easy. I found this stitch in my copy of the Complete Book of Crochet Stitch Designs that has 500 stitch patterns in it! This is my go-to book for inspiration! You can purchase a copy for your own library at the link. I may receive a small percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you if you purchase through my link. It helps me to continue to provide free patterns to you, so thank you for your support!

Notes:

  • This infinity scarf is constructed in a long panel. The ends are stitched together in the final step of the instructions.
  • If you want a border on the edges to give it a cleaner look, you can always single crochet evenly around both edges, however, there was not enough yarn to do this in 2 skeins. You would have to buy a third skein. So this is optional.

  1. You’re so welcome, Kati! I’m so excited to hear that you love the design. I like using stitch patterns that aren’t commonly utilized. It makes things unique, which is always fun. Thanks for commenting!

  2. Just found this pattern and I love it – can’t wait to make the scarf. The stitch pattern for it is unusual and that is what I really like about it. Thank you so much..

  3. Hi Anna! I’m so glad to hear that you are loving how the scarf pattern is working up! I don’t have a recommendation for a matching hat just yet, but it is definitely something I can work on. Even though I designed this pattern last year, I saw that they are still selling the yarn needed in Wal-Mart. I may just have to pick up another skein or two and design a hat… πŸ˜‰ Thanks for commenting!

  4. I just started working on this pattern with lion brand scarfie and love the way it is working up. I will definitely be trying the Caron simply soft as soon as I can get my hands on some. Do you have any suggestions for a hat or beret to match?

  5. Hi Kromity! I’m so glad that you are being opened up to new color options! That’s one thing that I love the most about patterns — you can customize them. Even if you don’t like the color the designer chose, you can always change it! I don’t wear much orange, but this particular yarn was just so pretty. I couldn’t resist! πŸ˜‰

  6. Love the look of this pattern. Would not be my go to color but love it in this scarf. Like the fact that I get opened up to new colors to try and new ideas. Thanks.

  7. Hi Becky! I’m sorry you are having trouble with Row 4. When I say that you need to (ch 1, dc) in every ch-1 space, I’m referring to the ch-1 spaces made from Row 3. So in other words, in Row 3’s chain one spaces, (ch 1, dc) across.

I also realized that I should not have said the first ch 3 counts as a dc, because it doesn’t count. I will fix that immediately. Thank you for bringing that to my attention! πŸ™‚ It will be 22 dc’s plus the ch 3 once you complete Row 4…that part was correct.

    I hope this helps!

  8. I absolutely love this pattern however I’m having a difficult time trying to figure out what you’re asking me to do for row 4. If I’m reading directions correctly it says Jane three counts of the first double crochet the crochet in next change -1 space in parentheses it says chain -1, double crochet in each chain -1 space across double crochet in lasted turn . I’m not sure if I am understanding the directions strictly am I supposed to add a chain one when I do the double crochet or zone am I not supposed to

  9. Oh my gosh, you are so right! I just fixed it in the pattern. I forgot to add that there should be a chain 2 after the (dc, ch 2, dc). Sorry about that, but thank you so much for letting me know, Lisa!
