Santa’s Sack Ornament

Santa's Sack Ornament

Santa’s Sack Ornament

The holidays are fast approaching…are you working on your gifts?

It’s Week 3 of this six week series of ornaments that hold a gift card!

This week I’ve designed a tiny thread version of Santa’s sack, except instead of presents in his bag, he brings you the gift of money! Who doesn’t like that?

These little gift card holders are so perfect for giving to neighbors, church members, friends and family. I’ve seen paper holiday cards that hold gift cards and even little tins with a holiday print on them, but what do they do with that after they use their card? Probably nothing.

That is what makes this Santa’s Sack ornament so special! Not only is it thoughtful and more personal, but they get to reuse it on their Christmas tree year after year!

Next year, I’m thinking about doing a new series of ornaments that use yarn instead of thread. While I don’t mind working with thread, I know that not everyone enjoys it.

What are your thoughts concerning using thread vs. yarn for Christmas ornaments? Yay or Nay? πŸ™‚ Comment down below!

  2. You’re welcome, Terri! I’m sorry to hear you’re not a fan of thread, but it’s totally understandable. Next year I will design with yarn. Thanks! Merry Christmas to you too!

  3. This is a very cute ornament/gift bag. I am not a fan of using the thread (vs. yarn) as I don’t crochet tight enough. Thanks for asking. Merry Christmas!
